Summary: What factors are most associated with quality of life and life satisfaction in individuals with traumatic spinal cord injury once they are living back in the community? This study looked at personal factors, (such as age), injury factors (such as severity of SCI) and common health conditions (such as pressure sores and urinary tract infections). Results indicated that the number of health conditions experienced had the most impact on quality of life and life satisfaction. Developing ways to prevent health conditions with improved care and self-management can help maximize quality of life and life satisfaction. This study uses data from the Rick Hansen SCI Registry
