Request for Applications: Translate Research into Neurorestorative Treatments
The objective of this RFA is to fund a team planning grant to catalyze and translate clinical research on neurorestorative treatments harnessing the potential of precision health approaches, AI, or other innovative technologies. The output of this RFA will be an application with a competitive proposal for a major external funding agency (e.g. Canadian Institutes of Health Research, U.S. Department of Defense, Craig H. Neilsen Foundation).
A minimum of two grants are expected to be awarded with $50,000 CAD each.

Request for Applications: Supporting Networks to Translate and Implement Evidence-based Care
The objective of this RFA is to further promote implementation and advance adoption of evidence-based care in a way that is meaningful to the SCI community and of local relevance. The goal of the RFA is to build strong networks that engage various SCI partners and relevant organizations to facilitate and champion practice and policy changes to optimize the delivery of care for people with SCI in Canada. Applicants are invited to submit proposals that align to the RFA’s objective and goal.
A minimum of three grants are expected to be awarded with $20,000 CAD each.

Request for Proposal: Knowledge Exchange Platform Planning For the Period March 22 to June 30, 2021
This request for proposal (RFP) is to contract services to assist with development of a Mock up of a public facing website that supports knowledge sharing with a plan for development of a functioning site, and a supporting comprehensive Knowledge Mobilization Plan/Strategy. The services are to be provided to the Praxis Spinal Cord Institute for the term March 22, 2021 – June 30, 2021

Request for Proposal: Summative Program Evaluation of Praxis Spinal Cord Institute Activities Funded by Western Economic Diversification (WD) Canada
This independent evaluation will examine the effectiveness of the implementation to date of the Praxis-WD Initiative, assess achieved outcomes in the planned timeframe, and make recommendations for improvement.
We are requesting Intent to Bid notices and questions by January 22, 2021.

Given the importance of accessing essential services for the health and wellness of individuals with SCI both during and after the pandemic, the focus of this RFA is to identify strengths (i.e. best practices) and gaps in the provision of essential community-based health services for Canadians living with SCI. The goal is to address these gaps by facilitating access to essential services and/or policy change across Canada.

Request for Applications: Spinal Cord Injury Implementation and Evaluation Quality Care Consortium
Praxis is pleased to support the expansion of SCI-IEQCC and invites RHSCIR site stakeholders (i.e. Principal Investigators, QI Leads, etc.) affiliated with Canadian RHSCIR Rehabilitation sites outside of Ontario, with an interest in and the capacity to work with the SCI-IEQCC Leadership Team, to apply for funding to implement one or more of the six domains listed in the RFA.

Request for Applications: Canadian Spinal Cord Stimulation Team Planning
Spinal cord stimulation has shown promise to improve autonomic and motor function in individuals with SCI. To facilitate the translation of this technology to individuals with SCI and into clinical practice, we are supporting Canadian researchers, clinicians, and consumers to form a collaborative team to develop a major grant proposal for external funding agencies for a multi-centre study on spinal cord stimulation.

In response, Praxis is providing SCI COVID Awards to bring together members of our community to address these critical needs and share information in Canada.

Development and Enhancement of Localized Networks to Optimize the Delivery of Spinal Cord Injury Care in Canada

To promote implementation and adoption of SCI evidence at the regional/provincial level, Praxis is requesting applications for initiatives that will lead to strong localized networks that engage various SCI stakeholders and relevant organizations to facilitate and champion practice and policy changes to optimize the local delivery of care for people with SCI in Canada.
The total amount available for this competition is $75,000 CDN. Up to 3 awards will be funded, each for a maximum duration of 1 year and to a maximum award amount of $25,000.

Advancing the Evidence and Implementation of Activity-Based Therapy to Enhance Neuro-restoration in Individuals with Spinal Cord Injury

Praxis is launching an open call on activity-based therapy (ABT) in order to increase evidence in this field to support implementation of ABT protocols across the SCI continuum.
